Vhati il-Dal was a fun little addition to the deck at the same time as Shirei. He serves multiple purposes. A) He can save you from massive attackers by making them small. B) He can make it easier to kill massive creatures by making their toughness 1. And C) He can make one of your soon-to-be-dead creatures have a 1-power and then be brought back by Shirei. Then we have Spiritmonger

. I stumbled across this lovely fella and instantly liked him. What’s not to like? He’s a 6/6 for 5 mana with regenerate and color-changing ability. That’s awesome! And there’s Kokusho. He’s a flyer and he has an amazing ability (especially in multiplayer and with recursion). Too bad I only have one copy because he’s so darn expensive to buy.

is one of those wonderful cards that I just wish I had enough for every deck with creatures in it. Aside from keeping a key creature from being targeted, it can also give you that extra oomph with haste on a big nasty you just played. Saving the best for last, there’s Surestrike Trident

er once explained (I’m not quoting because I can’t put it as eloquently), the point of the game is to kill your opponents. Therefore, I feel that playing with cards that keep me alive is essential to denying my opponents the opportunity to kill me.
