The Two-Drops of Future Sight - Aaron Weiner (7/10/2007)

[Editor's note: You know, now that I've typed Editor's note, I have absolutely what to put here to prepare you. So just read it.]

So, you're getting on towards the end of a draft. You've got the ´´meat´´: the massive bombs like Quagnoth

that will make up the bulk of your deck. You've got the ´´cheese´´: complicated spells like Cyclical Evolution

to confuse your opponent. And you know, if you've drafted a few times before, that you'll get the ´´bread´´ for free: the 15 or so lands that hold your deck together. But what sandwich would be complete without the ´´mayonnaise´´: a smattering of creatures, no more than two or three, that you can play before the seventh turn, or even if you get manascrewed (which seems to happen most of the time, jeez). They may look weak, but consider how much damage even an unopposed Grizzly Bear can get through. And of course, you can block their Samite Censer-Bearer if you get lucky enough to draw the right lands soon enough. That way, when the real game starts, you're starting out ahead! So you start picking up those two-mana creatures...but which ones to pick? As a frequent drafter with a really hard-core group, I can give you the tips you need.
