WON, 3-2

Round 6 vs. Blake Quelle playing BG Control.
Blake was playing a BG deck of his own creation that was heavy on the controlling side. In Game 1 my Deeds came in key. In Game 2 Blake had a Monger in hand that would have turned the game around for him but he stalled on 4 lands until it was too late. I felt bad for Blake as I knew him from practicing together for PT Boston and being stalled on land sucks, but I must admit I was also quite happy as this win meant I could now draw into Day 2!

WON, 4-2

Round 7 vs. Evgeny Golobrosdky playing BU Reanimator.
We drew into Day 2. Incidentally, we played the match out for fun and I ended up winning, but I still think drawing was definitely the smart and safe choice.

DREW, 4-2-1

So I was in Day 2! In fact, all people in our group who chose to play Rock ended up making it to Day 2, so I guess that’s some indication we had a decent deck. We all went out to dinner and then I headed back to the hotel. I was quite tired after the first day, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that I play Magic MUCH better when I’ve had plenty of sleep. Day 2 as well as some bonus travel tips :) will be covered next in Part 3 . . .
