CardShark Content - Adam Landry (8/1/2005)

Have you ever taken the time to dig through the entire Mirrodin/Darksteel/Fifth Dawn spoiler? I mean, I know I must've read through the whole thing about 5 or 6 times when it first came out, but it seems about 90% of the cards didn't stick. Something to do with the whole ´´Nope, Affinity'll hammer that´´ mentality at the time, perhaps. Now it seems like every other day I'm looking up a card that's in Mirrodin block that I had no idea existed.

Anyway, the point is that there's a lot of cool and highly abusable stuff in Mirrodin that's never seen the light of day because it was simply too slow for T2 play. Not only that, most of these ´´forgotten´´ cards are as cheap as can be because, well, a lot of people forgot about them. I've been playing around with a really fun multiplayer deck that can go in a couple different directions, all of them built around gaining absurd amounts of counters and bouncing them around all your permanents.

Here's one potential build:

CounterPunch - Sapphire

will do the job nicely, although it can be a dangerous card to play. It's a deterrent in that it makes attacking you pointless unless you can deal more damage per attack than there are people in the game. However, this will engender ill-will far faster than the Chimeric Egg
