Stealing Lands - Andy Lam (6/3/2008)

Here’s a completely silly, yet fun (and definitely annoying once it gets working) deck, built completely on the premise of stealing your opponent's lands and turning them into lands that you can use. I got the idea when Morningtide

The deck is clearly based around the Gilt-Leaf Archdruid’s ability, tapping seven untapped druids to take control of all your opponent’s lands. This is mighty useful on its own because, well, what’s your opponent going to do with zero lands? As you can see, to help the ability into being used, all the creatures in the deck are druids. I put in Treefolk Harbinger

to play as a sort of wall (and pull out more walls) for the first few turns, until the point when the game sees more 3/x’s and less 1/x or 2/x’s (although it is really dependant on your opponent’s deck). The Elvish Branchbender

to shake things up with the Armors).

I haven’t been able to play with the deck as much as I’d like, but I can probably see the very many places where this deck would fail and I don’t really expect this deck to ever work in a serious game, however, the sheer sadness on your opponent’s face once he loses all his lands makes this deck worth playing.
