Usefulness 5
This is one of those cards that if you can get more than 4 of in a draft do it!!! With the +2/+2 boost for playing other Treefolk and an extra +2/+2 for playing a forest this card rocks in a limited draft format. Also if you read my last article this card works great with Blades Of Velis Vel

getting +4/+2 for one copy of the spell and +8/+4 if you can do it twice – two 9/7 Treefolk coming at you are a fearsome sight indeed.

Bog-Strider Ash:
Would I draft it? Yes
Usefulness 4
The secondary abilities of swampwalk aside, you do have to remember to use the life gain ability whenever you or an opponent plays a shapeshifter also. Most games I have played either with or against this card this error has kept popping up, now usually I’m a nice enough guy to point out to my opponent his life gain opportunity but when one opponent snapped at me I stopped and was able to defeat him with the Merfolk I was using that draft.

Usefulness 4.5
As a 3/4 for 2 generic and 2 green it is an average power/toughness at 4 casting but the ability to block all those pesky elves flying around makes it the best (because it is the only one) flyer blocker in green for commons.

As an early play a 1 drop is always useful and as a chump blocker it is fine but it would be more helpful in the late game where you had some more elves in the graveyard. (On a side note, the most fun I had with this card was when someone at the pre-release called it Elvish Urologist)

If you don’t have a creature out or have had the early drops killed off, this card makes a great 2 generic 1 green mana casting cost surprise – you can block 2 creatures coming at you easily. In a late game using this as a surprise and winning the clash to kill his fatties makes it so much fun. (Well at least it's fun for you.)

Gilt-Leaf Seer
Would I draft it? Yes
Usefulness 3 (that may change with Mornigntide)
As I write this the first twenty some preview cards are out and the ability to stack your deck with the coming kinship abilities will become much more valuable. With Lorwyn it does come in useful to try and get a big mana cost on top to win a much needed clash

If you draft a few of these they make an even more effective pump to a creature that gets through for damage. But it would be better if it was for an attacking/blocking creature to get the bonus but that would have pushed up the casting cost for sure.

Nath’s Elite
Would I draft it? Yes
Usefulness 5
This card is great if you have something to give it Deathtouch to wipe out all your opponent’s creatures because with a backside of 2 (3 if you win the clash) and a 4 on the front (5 if you win the clash) it won't take out a whole lot otherwise but it does make a good distraction if you have a group of other creatures set to leave footprints across your opponent's corpse.
