CardShark Content - Asa Olson (2/7/2005)

Today I'm going to build off the ability Ninjutsu. To start it off I will state the ability, tell how it works and then go on with combos and deck ideas. The ability states as follows: Ninjutsu __ (__, return an unblocked attacker you control to hand; Put this card into play from your hand tapped and attacking). So say you attack with 2 creatures, a 1/1 and a 4/4, and the defending player has only one blocker, so naturally they would block your 4/4 to prevent the larger damage, so at this time you would pay the Ninjutsu cost and switch attackers. This, in my opinion, is one cool ability, because as one of my friends would say, ´´It will make them so paranoid they'll block your smallest creatures.´´ Which is true.
This can be used a couple ways in my opinion, make them paranoid or just kill them with the ninja's cool abilities. So you can use these strategies to kill them.
For the first strategy, we'll make them not want to block our attackers because if they do then there will be consequences. Some cards to use would be cards like dripping dead, basilisks, or just pits of rath. Of course on the other hand have you noticed how interesting it is that the orochi have abilities about making creatures not want to block them. So if need be, throw some in. So here's one deck.

How this deck would work is they will not want to block your creatures because if they do they will die, but they also do want to block them because of your cool enchantments. So really it’s a win/win situation. Then to make it even harder on them I threw in a Primal Rage

, which gives your guys trample, forcing them to take damage, you can't play the ninjutsu ability but at least you’re dealing damage, and also because after your ninjas are in play, their abilities will work, forcing them to block them. Then I threw in some new orochi shamans, which add mana to your pool, but causes no mana burn, thus giving you a spare forest to help pay for your ninjutsu ability, if needed. I find Nature's Will

. Another thing that works cool with this is once they can't block your creatures anymore, because they blocked all your warriors and basilisks, you can take control of their dead ones with Ink Eyes. Oh, and the Ogre Marauder

As mentioned before in previous articles and sentences, Meloku works very well with ninjas. He overwhelms your opponents with many 1/1 flying token illusions, which if unblocked can become a crazy strong ninja. The tokens are also a way of getting mana, with mana echoes it becomes return a land to your hand, put a 1/1 illusion token into play add -- mana to your mana pool. Fervor

helps your illusions by giving them haste. Gratuitous violence can work for you very well; it'll make them not want to block your creatures, but are forced to because of the somewhat devastating ninjutsu effects. R3JhbmQgMelee

can make them tap out in a sense, of course it also can destroy your creatures, but eventually that won't matter.
That's about all I had for now on Ninjutsu, and if you can improve these rough drafts then I'm sure they could do OK. So 'til next time, adios.
