CardShark Content - Beatdown Bedford Crenshaw (2/26/2005)

This article will look at the cards in Betrayers which are not mono-colored. Multicolored, artifacts, and lands will be rated here. Due to the shortage of cards like this in BoK, I will also give a grading scale for cards. Whenever I grade cards in the future, you can refer here. Note that my specialties are Booster Drafts and mono-red Constructed decks, with occasionally playing Stompy and other weenie builds.

A+: These are the bombs. Even if your deck would usually avoid these cards, you add them. They quickly find their way to the DCI Watch List, if not the Banned List. Skullclamp

C+: The main difference between this and a B- is that I think there is less than a 50/50 chance of this card being played in Limited. The Backbones of Limited often get rated here.
C: This is a Johnny card. It has very little if any chance of being in a Constructed deck. Cards like this were meant for casual play. The card “Timmy, Power Gamer

C’mon, you know you want to find uses for all those 5th Dawn cards. This is definitely a card for a Timmy who wants to become a Johnny. Unless you are drafting 5D-5D-BK for some reason, pass this in draft. Yes, I realized that, technically, this card has colors, but it fit so well here in this article.

Neko-Te – Grade B-
Very nice in Limited, as artifact destruction is rare in Kamigawa and a simple chumpblocker can knock out an opponent’s monster for good. I do not see this in Constructed.

I like this card in Limited. It’s an easy two damage, and if you have Ninjas, its even better. But you have to be a skilled player to make sure it doesn’t hurt you more than it hurts them.

An auto-inclusion in Limited decks, due to its cheap cost and many useful abilities. But I can not see it in Constructed, which is why I rated it only a B-.

God's Eye, Gate to the Reikai – Grade D+
Well, it provides another was to have a deck with 60 copies of one card and still possibly win. If it was 2/2, 2/1, or maybe even 1/2, it might be some good. However, as it is its nothing more than an Ivory Gargoyle
