CardShark Content - Beatdown Bedford Crenshaw (10/10/2005)

If there is one thing I normally avoid, it’s playing blue. But Limited formats are like being parachuted in an uncivilized area; you make do with whatever you can. Thus, I went U/B at the pre-release. Thus, this article will not only review my prerelease experience, but will also allow me to review the U/B cards in Ravnica.

My arrival to Indianapolis was annoying. I stopped at a gas station to get a 44oz Coca-cola, and squirted it with cherry, only for it to end up tasting like hot dog water. Also, the Indy police was already getting ready for the next day’s Colts game by putting “No Parking” signs all over the free parking spots. I managed to find one that was still available and walked on in. While waiting in line, I got one of the judges I knew personally, Jordan, to take my picture for the Cardshark promotion. I was the only one with a Cardshark T-shirt on there. In fact, this was the most poorly attended pre-releases in Indy I have ever seen. Anyways, I finally got to sit down for a flight and open up the cards. I noticed my blue/black cards were far better than the others. Thus, I built the following deck.

Should see a lot of play against the fetchlands in Extended or against fellow Dimir decks. This card is underrated. Might even see Type 1 play.

If you are playing blue, you’ll probably have better card drawers, but any Limited deck without blue can find use for this.

Not effective enough to be anything but Limited filler. I had two available to me at the prerelease and I played with neither and I never missed them.

The cards in this series are nothing but Limited filler, as that speed bump they give will hurt you, although with Dimir being a slower deck anyways, maybe this particular one could be useful for allowing you to play Szadek.

A nice answer to the Top, and shouldn’t hurt your mana production at all. Nice.

C’mon, it’s a dual land; you already want this.

There you go; Dimir’s cards reviewed. Not too shabby; especially when combined with Kamigawa’s blue defenders. I expect Mill decks to be back quite soon.
