CardShark Content - Beatdown Bedford Crenshaw (11/30/2005)

The day that we’ve been waiting for is almost here. Next week, on December 5, MIRAGE is released for MTGO. Mirage was the best blend of cards and flavor that WotC ever did, and is my 4th favorite expansion of all time. As the vast majority of you readers didn’t play back then, you may not know which cards you should go for. Well, let Uncle Bedford tell you what to acquire. That way, when you open them, you won’t throw away the good stuff and go out of your way for the bad stuff. Consider this a rare-drafter’s guide if you wish. :D

: Black land destruction is always cool, and with this being 3cc, I can see R/B LD decks being rather nasty in Online Classic tourneys.

: We were trying to get this in one of the Mirage precons, but MTG.com gets enough idiots who love to vote that we didn’t get it, instead getting two bad rares. It’s ability to save itself over and over again, if you are lucky, makes it a valuable addition to Izzet decks.

Lion’s Eye Diamond: Originally sucky, but now seen as broken, this may well become the most valuable of the Mirage cards.

There you have it, the best cards in Mirage. Most of them are common, which will help the budget player. But those few awesome uncommons and rares will steal the show. Be sure to buy a lot; that way, we’ll get VISIONS sometime in the upcoming year.

Next week: Two awesome decks featuring MIRAGE cards. Enjoy.
