CardShark Content - Chewie! Slate (1/8/2005)

So with my new position as Content Editor, I thought I’d try something new. Instead of one of my casual multiplayer decks, I thought I’d give a casual dueling deck a shot. Introducing the Blue Crap deck. It hearkens back to the age when blue could do some really strange stuff. Remember Psychic Venom

, anyone? When enchanted land is tapped, its controller takes two to the dome. Not to mention all the random spells that say “opponent takes damage/ sacs a land/ sacs a creature unless he pays mana”. I had a lot of these cards from back in the day, and I decided to put them to use. As always, here’s the decklist, submitted for your approval.

is just a big headache. Your opponent can either pay 1 life, 1 mana, or sacrifice the land. If they’re going to pay the mana, they usually just tap the enchanted land, thus effectively eliminating the land. On big turns, they’ll pay life so they’ll have the extra mana. Soul Barrier

or Rishadan person is just plain dirty. Of course, that’s the whole idea. You want to tie up their mana and slowly whittle away at their life while keeping their threat level to a minimum until you can get the win.

There are several big nasty blue creatures in here to help the win, of course. Keiga can eat your opponent’s head or die to recruit one of his big nasty creatures. Arcanis draws cards like nobody’s business. The Blue Bringer can get you massive card advantage or trample over defenders to crush some opponent skull. (aside: blue tramplers are funny) The Blue Myojin is an indestructible beatstick until you just really want to draw lots of cards. And the Hoverguard Sweepers
