Recently at one of our playtesting get-togethers, my friend Richard brought with him an odd deck. He called it Ire.dec. The concept of the deck is pretty out in the open as you want to play a bunch of arcane spells and put them into your bin and then use Ire of Kaminari

as he wanted to mill himself and then cast a single big Ire. My friends took time to revise the deck so that it could win easier. I also took up this challenge and made a more comboish build to Richard’s more aggressive build.

I am not really going to go in-depth with every card on this list as I am going to also post the other list so I will just explain cards that I ran that he did not.

because if you have more than one and splice them you can do lots of things, but in testing it didn’t work out as well as I had planned as it does only add red mana and blue mana is always good. I also ran Wayfarer’s Bauble as a way to accelerate. Shortly after building the deck I convinced Rich that Eerie Procession

This decklist in testing has proven to be much more tuned than I had originally thought, but there are still some changes that can be made to it. First, card choices.

ed for Ire, your plan is kind of dead.

Meloku, well he is just the best creature in Type Two, so why not run a few as a back up plan. Again like the Rays I have no problem with this.

has proven to be much better than I originally thought. It splices onto every spell in the deck and allows you to mill more cards off the top of your library so you hopefully can get a lethal Ire off.

So in conclusion I think that with some editing this deck can be a competitive deck in Type Two. It plays really consistently and is a very fun deck to play. With a few minor revisions it could be a very competitive deck. Well that’s it for this one. I’ll see you all later…
