This scenario is based on the story of THE HOBBIT. It is the story of how Bilbo Baggins joined a party of dwarves, lead by Gandalf the Grey, and later found The One Ring.

The objective is to have the fellowship venture into Moria, have Bilbo ´´find the ring´´, and to return Bilbo home safely.

1. HOW TO PLAY

For this scenario the only fellowship characters you're allowed to use are Gandalf, Gandalf culture allies, Bilbo Baggins, Bounder, and Dwarves. All other Free Peoples non-character cards are legal, but must be played correctly. (See Scenario Card/Rules Changes and Definitions.)

Bilbo Baggins is considered a COMPANION instead of an ALLY, and has the added gametext of ´´Ring-bearer (Resistance 7)´´.

All Shadow culture cards are legal, but must be played correctly. (See Scenario Card/Rules Changes and Definitions.) Minions will be considered roaming until the fellowship reaches a certain point within Moria.
- Isengard (except Uruk-hai), Moria (except the Balrog) and Nazgul culture minions are considered roaming until the fellowship reaches ´´Inner Moria´´.
- The Balrog, Uruk-hai, and Sauron culture minions are considered roaming until the fellowship reaches The Bridge of Khazad-dum.

Site cards are limited to only Site 1 sites, and sites within the Misty Mountains. (See The Adventure Path.) Most references to site numbers have changed, except for allies, which are still considered to be at their home site, and participate in archery fire and skirmishes only when the fellowship is at that site.

2. THE ADVENTURE PATH

Each player will have a 5-card Adventure Deck consisting of the Following
Cards:
- Any Site 1 (´´Home´´)
- Moria Lake or Moria Stairway (´´Moria Entrance´´)
- Balin's Tomb or Dwarrowdelf Chamber (´´Moria Sanctuary´´)
- Great Chasm or Mithril Mine (´´Inner Moria´´)
- The Bridge of Khazad-dum (´´The Bridge´´)

The adventure path functions as normal except that instead of moving from Site 1-9, the fellowship moves from a ´´home´´ site to the ´´Moria Entrance´´, to the ´´Moria Sanctuary´´, to ´´Inner Moria´´, and to ´´The Bridge´´. However, instead of being done there, the fellowship must then return through the adventure path to get Bilbo and the One Ring back home. (´´The Return Home´´)

For this scenario, Balin's Tomb and Dwarrowdelf Chamber have the added gametext of ´´Sanctuary.´´

All site shadow numbers are the same except that on the ´´Return Home´´ they are increased. ´´Inner Moria´´ and ´´Moria Sanctuary´´ are +3, the ´´Moria Entrance´´ is +6, and ´´Home´´ will have a shadow number of 8 on the ´´Return Home´´.

3. START OF THE GAME

For this scenario, the starting fellowship will consist of Gandalf, Gloin, and 2 Dwarf Guards. (These 4 characters do not count as part of your draw deck.) In order to determine which player goes first, each player will bid the number of wounds their Gandalf will start the game with. (0-4) In case of a tie, the person that goes first will be determined randomly. (Ex. Flip a coin.)

NOTE: Bilbo does not start the game in the fellowship. Each player must be able to play Bilbo and add him to the fellowship before it starts the ´´Return Home´´. (Before leaving The Bridge of Khazad-dum.) When Bilbo is played, the player must also give him The One Ring. Until Bilbo is played, the fellowship does not have a ring-bearer.

4. END OF THE GAME

The game immediately ends and you win if...
- Your Bilbo returns home with the One Ring, and survives all skirmish phases.
- You corrupt or kill your opponent's Bilbo.

The game immediately ends and you lose if...
- Your opponent accomplishes any of the above conditions.
- Your fellowship leaves The Bridge of Khazad-dum without Bilbo in it.

Hobbit Intuition
-- Cancels skirmishes until the fellowship reaches The Bridge of

-- Cancels skirmishes until the fellowship starts the ´´Return Home´´.
