In the current format, goblins, locus, dragons that cannot die, sliding angels, and 4/4s that cost 0 run rampant. Many deckbuilders feel as if these are good. Good enough. Maybe they are. Maybe the deck built around one of the most underrated rares since Okk

wouldn’t be interesting to you, then. If you believe that in the current type 2 environment that sports 1,500 cards 5 or 6 decks are good enough, you may stop reading. If not…

You are not alone. I feel that in a game of infinite possibilities, we are being extremely shortsighted and narrow-minded. I mean, I have seen casual fun decks rip apart slide with just a handful of Demystify

. I have seen Monowhite roll over against an eleven-year old who liked indestructible permanents. Even the most finely tuned 12post is toast when a well-timed counterspell or boomerang hits. What we need to do is make something to kill everyone who sticks 4 different rare goblins, sledders, smiths, and prospectors into a pile, or everything with affinity, an Arcbound Ravager

and all the artifact land and call it a deck, We must grind into the dust all who swipe a decklist off the internet and call it their own. We must go against the flow. We will lay waste to the mindless drudges who think their real good when they play a Piledriver with three other goblins, an Enforcer for free, or a dragon that has fetched five lands for them with this:

…oh yea. What better way to beat the most arrogant, mean-spirited, rub-it-in-your-facer in your current cardshop/playing group than with a 60-cent rare? If you don’t believe me, here’s how to do it:

Huh? What is an x? Why, a variable, silly. Didn’t you learn anything in algebra? This deck is 57 cards big, really. Those three will always change every game beyond the first. They are your tools to kill every deck. More on this later. Pretty much it is a monoblack control deck with bounce. I added the aphetto orb so that you might dump a reminder into your graveyard and bring it back, and the reminisces to replenish your library. Some death clouds could be useful, but I’m not sure if the mana would be easy enough to get. Most of you probably understand where this is going by now, so I’ll just show you the 15 other cards:

Choose one - Search your library for up to two creature cards, reveal them, put them into your hand, then shuffle your library; or put up to two creature cards from your hand into play. Entwine 2 (Choose both if you pay the entwine cost.)

What you do with these cards is side them in against the popular decks being that they are being played in. For example, you could put in a combination of wrath, decree, slide, and rift if you are playing Slide, or ravager, enforcer, and scullclamp against an affinity deck. Of course, this is just my environment, and yours is most likely much different, so feel free to customize the sideboard. Additionally, the expensive cards here can easily be replaced by cheaper ones from the same deck, such as a warcheif instead of piledriver, or a noble templar in the dragon’s stead. But the main idea here is that you reminder them to death (you only need to get it off 4 times, three if you can actually play an enforcer, decree, or ravager). If you end up drawing a remindable card, try to get eight cards in hand or play it with the cities of brass, then shuffle it back in with a reminisce. And if worse comes to worse and they just stop playing your hijacked spells, its like a free meddling magex3; in which case I added the remove souls.

Thank you for all you readers who have stayed with me all the way through the article. Most of you will not play it, since this can get pretty expensive. At least it will be easier to trade for than most other decks, since you will be silver bulleting many of your spells. This would be a fun deck adventure for anyone to try. I will not give you what decks this is good or bad against, since it’s designed to beat them (goblins may be hardest, along with affinity, since they play their spells faster than you may be able to find a Grim Reminder
