Hello...I’ve been playtesting for the new standard and Junior Super Series since Mirrodin came out. I’ve been through a good fifteen decks and until now hadn’t found one that I liked. I was at my local tournament the other day and I came up with this deck. I then proceeded to crush affinity, goblin bidding, astral slide, and UW control.

Plainscycling 2
: The deck needs a land drop every turn to survive against the faster decks in the field and Eternal is the perfect answer. It also doesn’t die, and once you have your mana setup nothing can stop it. Eventually your opponent will run out of removal.

: The very heart of the deck. There are lots of instants in the deck that can be imprinted…namely holy day, raise the alarm, mana leak, and stifle.



Matchups:



Goblins, Goblin Bidding: You win this one hands down...Game 1= Turn 1 land, Turn 2 Scepter imprint holy day...your opponent folds. Then you have circle of protection: red on the sideboard for game 2.



Rift/Slide: This is an easy matchup. You have holy days, mana leaks, and concentrates to keep going. Game 2 you might want to sideboard in COP reds to deal with the rifts. With this deck you're constantly mana cycling with the dragon.



Affinity: This is a mediocre matchup. You're probably going to win it three out of every five matches. If they get fast enough drops and overrides to deal with your scepters you can't do much, but more often then not they will not draw into the god hand. Games 2 and 3 you'll have annul which will be pretty big in the matchup.



Zombie Bidding: This is probably your worst matchup, Even once the holy day/scepter has hit, the deck still has gempalm polluter and shephard of rot, but don't worry zombie bidding tends to get the most akward draws in type 2, so even though this is a bad matchup it won't cost you that much.



Variants of white control: You win these matchups for the same reasons that you'll win rift/slide.



I think this deck will have a huge impression on standard once people start realizing how broken Isochron Scepter
