The older Slivers are unarguably the best tribe ever. Someone who looks a Sliver can easily see that every Sliver helps every other Sliver, and no other tribe can say that. Elf decks are defined by Wellwisher

s, and mass removal in the same way, if you disable them, the deck is fodder. Every tribe is like that, except for Slivers.

Sure, some are more powerful than others are, but all of them help every other Sliver. The newest Slivers seem bad because the first ones were so good. A colorless and colored mana, two different colored mana, or 2 colorless mana and a colored is all it took to summon a huge creature with often seven abilities. Back in the day, nothing could stand up to it. The newer ones have higher mana costs but they also have better abilities. Type 2 Slivers may not compete with older Slivers but in the modern environment, Slivers are viable as a deck.

The newer ones are very interesting, here is a list of the newer one, organized by rarity and then alphabetically.

It’s a 2/2 Sliver for 3G that makes all Slivers uncounterable. This Sliver is not particularly a good creature and I didn’t like the green rare Sliver, so this will not go in the main deck. Against Wizard decks, and other counter intensive decks, however it can be vital. It’s definitely a sideboard card.

It’s a 2/2 Sliver for 3U that makes Slivers unblockable. It’s obvious that this is a great ability and that makes up for its low price to power/toughness ratio. Sliver makes the green and blue rare Slivers better and more likely to be useful. With this out, Slivers will probably hit home; Slivers are not mainstream yet

It’s a 2/2 Sliver for 2B that allows you to pay 2 to give a Sliver +1/+1. Essentially this one makes all Slivers shades, expensive shades but shades nonetheless, as well as Slivers. Since the Slivers are a mana-intensive breed any ways, you should have enough to really pump them through the roof. This is definitely going in.

It’s a 2/2 Sliver for 4W that gives all Slivers protection from a color of your choice. This is great, protection from a color flat out beats mono-color decks and severely cripples two color decks. When you get the second one, that’s when the real beat down begins. Not only that, but the white rare is good too.

This is a 1/1 for 1R that gives all Slivers provoke (allows them to untap an opponent’s creatures and force them to block). I don’t like this because none of the Slivers are big enough to really take on most creatures. Most of the annoying creatures that Slivers could kill have tap abilities so untapping them would be helping your opponent.

This is a 1/1 Sliver for 1U that allows any Sliver to change into some other creature type. I got to ask one question, why would a Sliver want to be anything else? If you pick up a Sliver, any of them, it’s clearly a tribal creature because all of them give others some ability, and you can’t get that type of cooperation anywhere else. As a separate note, what’s the point of mistform anyway? They are great for Sealed Deck Tournament but unless you have Cryptic Gateway

This is a 1/1 Sliver for 1G that allows all Slivers to be played as instants. You could cast Slivers in between phases, but this Sliver’s ability is best used at the end of the other players discard phase, when the opponent has less of a chance to kill it.

That’s all of them, the fifteen newest Slivers. I think I’ll make my deck white, green, and black because those are the best colors of Slivers. The most detrimental thing about Slivers is that they need is a good mana base. Birds of Paradise
