CardShark Content - Jacob Goodisman (4/25/2004)

I designed a deck that can create nearly indestructible and instantly replaced creatures that don’t tap to attack, while filtering completely through the deck, and it can filter through the deck several times in one game. All that and it's mono-green.

It started with an interesting combination; Battlefield Scrounger

r replaces creatures that die into the deck. In the deck that first played this combination, I had huge creatures, 4/4 at least, and the idea that they were replaced immediately when they died made victory very quick.

I think the combination can be even more powerful if it could kill its own creatures with an effect reliably. Good Intentions is the only green card that can fill this role; its an enchantment that lets you sacrifice a creature to draw cards equal to its power and discard three cards. The resulting interaction makes creatures in play free card advantage, if the creature has power more than 3, and a chance to get rid of extra cards in addition to being replaced as they die.

and maybe an Acolyte. On the fourth turn, you have the Woodlot and four forests and an Elemental is the best play, it even gives you a land when the Woodlot dies. After that, the deck should start dropping combination pieces; probably some are waiting in your hand. When I tested this, I got this start almost reliably.

would help, but by the time its in play the damage may be unrecoverable and counterspell effects are just that powerful; Sliver decks and Goblin decks are really the only decks that can deal with them.

s and Creeping molds are.

Other pure agro decks were too slow or not powerful enough, the Successions are just that powerful. The control decks that lock down the board lost because this one could draw the 61st card. This deck is faster than most other combination decks and the combination is less delicate than most once it happens

I know allot of this has to do with luck, with 16 cards that cost more than four, the opportunity for having too few land is incredible. The only thing I can say about it is that land acceleration works.

Is this a tournament deck? Not a successful one; the deck is not nearly fast enough to compete in the top games. Although in casual play, its really good. Multiplayer games tend to go at a slower pace so this deck does well. For the first game in the set, players will look at your side of the board and not see many threats, relative to what else is on the board of course, because no card in this deck is terribly threatening by itself. Its when the pieces interact that they become dangerous and at that point, to many decks, you are invincible. Until all of your pieces are on the table, this deck should not attack anyone. After it goes off, with unlimited creatures that won’t die and don’t tap to attack, you can attack to your hearts delight.
