. They didn’t really share a creature type, they were all relatively small in size, and they all put more cards in your opponent’s hand. Can a card suck more? Oh don’t tempt me. You see, I’m a sucker for sucky cards. I love breaking stupid cards that have almost no reason to exist; like Last Laugh

(wink, wink…other articles). So when Judgment handed me these five weirdoes, my mission became clear. I was on the case to defend Advocates on behalf of the Department of Redundancy Department.

(On a side note, I also support The Devil’s Advocate, the movie. I don’t know why I like it. Is it Keanu’s fleeting southern accent? Is it Al Pacino’s horrible dentures? Or is it the sheer hotness of Connie Nielson? Who knows, but it makes for movie magic.)

In order to break a card, we must first examine what the card does. In the case of the Advocates, they each give us a valuable service, while at the same time they return as many as three target cards from your opponent’s graveyard to their hand. Is this a drawback? Usually, yes. But what if we could make it a no? What if we could find an abuse to stocking our opponent? Let’s look at cards like Storm Seeker

The plan behind this deck is somewhat complicated and often hard to pull off correctly. But I have faith in you guys to get it and deliver victory.

and either discarding them or casting them like crazy. If all goes well, they’ll acquire a decently sized graveyard after a short amount of time.

Step 2:

can enchant only a creature you control.
Enchanted creature has, ´´{0}: Untap this creature. Play this ability only during your turn and only once each turn.´´
As long as enchanted creature is white, it has, ´´{T}: Untap target artifact, creature, or land. Play this ability only once each turn.´´

My decks just aren’t complete without the obscure card that nobody ever played with. This card, in conjunction with your creature base, allows you to return even more cards to your enemy’s hand, as well as killing multiple artifacts or resurrecting multiple creatures. This card is also great because most of your creatures are white and so the second clause of the enchant creature helps you doubly. Plus, come on, Nature’s CHOSEN? It’s clearly an advocate in itself. Whatever; the basic point of this last paragraph is that the Advocates aren’t just there to put cards in your opponent’s hand. But since that is one of their perks, we need to jump on it.

This deck is great in chaos too. It gives you enough time to get your pieces together. There’s also a great loophole that occurs in chaos: All the advocates have separated the target of the payment (returning graveyard) with the target of its ability. This means you can return two of Jose’s cards to kill one of Sven’s artifacts. As long as one opponent has a graveyard, you are good to go. You might want to consider adding either a Gaea’s Blessing
