Seeing that it is Kamigawa Block Season I have been testing various decks and builds for the past few weeks. The deck that I am going to talk about in the article is my favorite right now. It’s a green and white deck that seems to fair very well against most of the current meta game. It looks like this:

Just simply put - an amazing card. You get a 5/5 flier for 6 mana, and to top it off when he goes to the graveyard you get to tap 5 of your opponents permanents and they lose their next untap step. Great beats and control all wrapped up in one.

Mana acceleration is the key in this deck to ramp up the big guys quick enough to take control of the game. Also the Sustainers work wonders when you get Hokori in play.

Big fatties are what this deck is all about. He’s a 6/4 with trample that can’t be targeted. White Weenie and Mono Black better watch out for this guy.

The key here is to know when to play Hokori at the right time. Make sure to play this card when you are positive you have the advantage. A misplayed Hokori can set your opponent up for a win.

I know what you are thinking - “8 mana?” Well, although the Myojin does have a really high casting cost, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem to play this card with all the acceleration. And once you do, it should be clear sailing.

4: Kodama’s Reach
This is easy - Mana, Mana, Mana, and of course thin that deck out.

ari, so this is just a handy card to have in this format.

4: Umezawa’s Jitte
Almost every single KBC deck is playing 4 of them, so I just thought why not. Not to mention how utterly amazing this card is.

4: Sensei’s Divining Top
Yet another great card in this deck. You can set yourself for that card you need at the moment, and not only that, with all the shuffling you’ll be doing, you should be able to search for just about anything.

22: Lands
The lands always speak for themselves. The Eiganjo and Okina work great with all the Legendary Creatures and the Tendo’s have great synergy with Meloku as well as helping with the mana curve.

An aggro deck’s worst nightmare. White Weenie can usually handle this card by sacrificing a creature, but there is not much black can do in this situation.

3: Empty-Shrine Kannushi
I anticipate seeing a lot of White Weenie decks this year so this should be a very good choice as well.

I’ve also been toying around with the idea of Needle in the sideboard. But I’m not sure other than Jitte and Top what it could be useful for. And that will also shut this deck down pretty well. In my opinion the top 2 Tier 1 Decks right now are White Weenie and Mono Black. This deck handles Mono black fairly well. In my testing versus White weenie it seems to stand up just as well.

I hope you enjoyed my article and thanks for reading.
