Magic Has Debased to This - Multiplayer Zombeats - Patrick 'Debaser' Breeden (7/28/2007)

I confess that I am a fan of multiplayer. I absolutely love to challenge myself in this very strange and overwhelming atmosphere. Can I convince a potential threat to turn against my enemy? Can I manipulate the board to my advantage against every single player? These are the questions I love to push during multiplayer games. While I dislike using overpowered multiplayer decks that may end the game by turn four or five, I do like strong, well-built decks that may win and also may fall flat on its face. This is my journey, and I hope you would like to come along.

I began my journey looking into the possibilities of board control. If I were to let the threats run wild, I would surely die. A splash of white or black in any deck would allow me to cast Wrath of God

a very unhappy lad. I chose the color combination of black/green after much consideration due to the Golgari's rather impressive adaptation to the multiplayer format.

But is black/green powerful enough to be taken seriously in multiplayer? The black portion of my color pie allows me to tap into global threats such as Kokusho, the Evening Star

I have honestly had only one chance to test this deck in an actual multiplayer game. I would advise everyone not to play this in a one-on-one match because you will lose – I promise. I had great luck in absolutely destroying anything and everything that was thrown at me. I eventually had a great deal of problems against someone who played Debtor's Knell, but someone else in the game destroyed the pesky enchantment for me.
