Going Green - Randy Villarica (5/10/2010)

I like green decks, they're usually fairly easy to work with. They have the best mana acceleration by far compared to all the other colors which means they can push out some amazingly large creatures in a hurry.

Rock uses this very concept to power out a large creature on its turn 3 and continues to take control of the board from there. Back in the days when Kamigawa was legal it would usually look like this.

would be also 7/7 thanks to the +1/+1 from Archdruid. Your little insect tokens would be 6/6. You see what I'm talking about? Before their EOT, turn those mana producers sideways and make Omnath larger (if he was 1/1 he would be a 6/6 before mana was used to pump him up). That's not even the best part.

The best part is what guarantees Omnath a place in this deck. Sure he gets big from all that stored mana but his static ability allows us to tap into that mana later and cast more spells, run more tricks, etc.

One idea I have been toying around with would be to add either Rampant Growth
