CardShark Content - Suneki (12/3/2003)

Well, the last month has been rather uneventful concerning new T2 decks. Right now, it's mostly U/W and Affinity. I personally think in the next few weeks the format will change considerably, as there are some decks forming that can survive the onslaught of both the leading decks. Personally, though, I haven't been playing T2 much. I have, however, been drafting.

In this article, I am going to review the white Mirrodin cards and their uses in draft. Now, the important thing about white is how heavily it relies on equipment to win. Since Skyhunter Cub

and Leonin Den-Guard are your two best common creatures, you need a lot of the equipment to make this deck playable. This sometimes means taking a card like Vulshok Gauntlets

in place of another card you want if your equipment count is too low.

Cards are listed best to worst, in my opinion.

. And that's what it is. But, even a card this bad in comparison to WoG can be godly in Mirrodin draft. Many times you can destroy your opponents big creatures and let the surviving weenies through, or destroy your opponent's small fries and let your behemoth through. Or you can just use it to destroy all creatures if you're in big trouble. I happen to like cards with multiple uses, and seeing how this has THREE, I rank it as the best rare.
