CardShark Content - The Wookie (12/10/2001)

Ahh, welcome back to my little piece of the information superhighway; why the different lead in you ask, well, I’ll tell you: I got bored with the other one, that’s all. This time I am bringing you a deck that is near and dear to me, and kicks ass to boot. My teammate and I designed this one and provided the necessary play testing and tweaking to make the deck a real threat. Now this deck is capable of bringing the beats with extreme prejudice and finishing off the opponent with astounding quickness. However, as good as this deck is, it still needs work, my teammate and I are still working with the deck so that it may achieve its maximum potential. If you, the loyal reader, have any suggestions as to what might make the deck better, please, feel free to e-mail me at bigwukmike@hotmail.com.

Well, now that we have come through the lovely introduction paragraph, lets get to the meat of the article, and the thing that I know all of you are looking for: The Decklist. Well, without further adieu, here it is.

Well folks, there it is in all of its simplistic majesty, now, on to card choice and analysis for both the main deck and sideboard.

Gaea’s Skyfolk: Where to begin to sing the praises of this super bear. For two mana you get a 2/2 flyer, which is pretty good according to people who know what they are talking about (am I one of those people, maybe). Dropping elbows off the top rope is a good thing, and if we are to remember back to yonder days of IBC, this little fellow made quite a splash.

also allows you to take some of the punch out of a deck running counters and Wraths since you do get eight creatures for four cards. An extremely solid card and a must have in a deck like this.

Fire/Ice: This is one of those utility spells that fits quite nicely into a deck like this. Fire can kill annoying blockers or deal a few straight to the dome. Ice can tap a blocker for a turn or allow you to “port” your opponent for a turn. Overall, this is an acceptable card for now, however, we are looking at putting Prophetic Bolt

Allowing an aggressive deck such as this to draw three cards a turn is devastating. Simply put, this card is silly in a deck like this, give it a try and see what I am talking about.
