Well, I've been looking around... Reading some of the articles here at Magic4You, and I have to say that there are some pretty good ideas floating around; however, I see that there were some decks that no one saw fit to warn you about. I am here to rectify this situation, and I will list a trio of decks that I feel will find a nice place in the metagame: Mono-Black Control and Mind's Desire

I have built this deck in real life because I believe it's one of the strongest out there. Many people say that it's unstable; it's this... it's that... But I stick with what I know... You really need to FOCUS in order to play this deck the correct way. If you're just starting out, I strongly urge you to try something else. Okay, here are the basics: Play only lands, Talismans, and card draw. If you're in trouble, drop a creature to block. If you have Decree in hand, play that sucker. This deck is very solid. You’re running 10 Mass Destruction effects along with life gain, protection, and powered up creatures. What more could a deck ask for? Mono-White Control packs quite a wallop, and it seems almost invulnerable to attack, so we’re going to have to analyze it a bit more. It seems to have the upper-hand against both decks that I have listed, but why is it not my favorite?

Well, Mono-White Control is a tedious deck to play. You have to have patience and pay close attention to what you’re doing. For this deck, I will go with a card-by-card analysis:

This is one of the few decks that looks as good on paper as it does when played. Still… it’s a control deck that forces you to play slow and patiently. I have no problem with control decks, but I just hate not being able to switch it into Aggro. Well, if you have patience, and you know what you’re doing, this deck should really work out for you...
