Liions, Weenie players were ready for their beloved deck to dominate the Standard metagame. Did it? No.

Although White Weenie is not completely viable in Standard, it has a lot of power in the less-powered Block Constructed environment. Why? Most of the cards in the Weenie deck are found in Mirrodin or can easily be replaced with a Mirrodin card.

For example, with Glorious Anthem

as such. Which brings me to my next point. Darksteel has made Equip-a-Weenie amazing! It offers a total of 12 cards played in the deck including Leionin Shikari, Skullclamp

Now, why will White Weenie perform so well in Standard? There are several reasons.

1. Speed: Equip-a-Weenie is the only deck in Mirrodin Block Constructed that can have a 4/2 First Striker attacking on turn 2. Chrome Mox

allows this deck to speed out of the gates and race even the fastest of opponents. The majority of the deck is made up of 2 drop creatures and with Chrome Mox

is another part of what makes this deck so good. What makes these cards great is Leonin Shikari

because it allows you to draw cards almost every turn with instant-speed equipping.

4. A Stable Mana Base: This fact pretty much goes without saying. Most mono-colored decks are much more stable than those running two or three colors and do not mulligan as much.

So, with these facts in mind, I will build Equip-a-Weenie.

Creatures
The majority of these creatures are above-average 2 drops that will be enhanced by equipment and Auriok Steelshaper
