CardShark Content - Wenhao Xia (1/24/2004)

One of the most fun things to do in Magic is to build a good and fun deck. And in my heart, I know I’m a Johnny player, and I love to play combo decks. The story of how this deck came to be is very interesting. One time, I opened up a pack and found a card named seismic assault. Now I’m not one to read a card too carefully, so I thought the card said that you can discard any card for two damages to any target.

As soon as I saw it I was jumping for joy, and for a long time, I played the card just like I read it the first time. Then someone pointed out my mistake, and my dreams of seismic assault was destroyed.

But I’m not a person to be defeated easily. I raked my brain to try to come up with a deck that abused seismic assault and used it as a kill condition; such is how this deck came to be.

Lands – One big problem that I’ve encountered is the triple red in Seismic assault’s casting cost. While it will work with just simply 13 island and 12 mountain, this deck can be improved by adding lands such as City of Brass

win condition, or to just try to gush enough lands into your hands. This decision is made purely upon the situation at hands.

This deck in not made for multiplayer, (Kind of Obvious isn’t it…). It is possible to make this multiplayer though, try to add two reminisce so you will never deck yourself if you’re going to be playing multiplayer.

Remember to always have fun, because this deck is fun to play. And occasionally, it’s okay to throw ten lands at someone’s head.
