Suicide black is all about being suicidal in the attempt at killing your opponents, which, of course, means that you will be losing a huge amount of life in the process. The key to winning with Suicide black is to keep on putting the pressure on your opponents, while using a few hand disruption to stop keys spells such as wrath of god (Or any mass removal for that matter). The deck is fairly simple to play and surprisingly efficient.

I didn’t give a sideboard because it really depends on what you’re facing against. The sideboard I use is geared towards goblins a lot since a lot of players in my area have taken an interest in the little red men. But there are a lot of possibilities in sideboarding, Graveborn muse and Dross harvester to name a few. One card that I do suggest putting in the sideboard is Persecute

– A great all around card for a suicide black deck, he will grow bigger every time a creature of yours is going to die. Don’t forget to sack the Anurid to it if the life lose is starting to hurt you too much. And if you decide to play Graveborn muse, either in the sideboard or main, she is another great creature to sack to the feeder if the life lose is unbearable.

The Shepherd can also draw you games that you’ve had no chance of winning before.

– Remember how much hype was around this card when it first came out. Now he’s barely been talked about anymore. Still, this creature shines in suicide black. He is your beat stick if your opponent has some big creature stalling the ground. Just like the anurid, he can possibly come out very fast. (Turn two at the fastest but turn three is much more likely) A turn one Anurid followed by this on either turn two or turn three is likely to be quite deadly.

followed by an Anurid is this deck’s ideal opening.

Now for a few match up analysis.

Affinity: 60%-40%
This is usually a good match up for you as your creatures are simply better. The only thing that you have to look out for is broodstars. Remember to side out the persecute as it usually won’t hit anything. Black mail is very good in this match as it will usually reveal their entire hand. There are many variation on affinity though, and it hard to predict what they will do so make sure to keep your wits about you.

Goblins: 50%-50%
This match can go either way. The problem with goblins is that they pack burn and burn spells are not good when you’re losing 3 life a turn. Watch out for those Sulfuric Vortex
