Support Topics Explained

Re-submitting payment
You can re-submit a payment that did not go through correctly with PayPal by returning to your purchase history and clicking the "resubmit" link. Here is a quick link to your history: my purchase history. Please note that PayPal occasionally goes down for maintenance, and you will be unable to complete payment for your order. CardShark will send a reminder email to you when PayPal becomes available again.

Forgot Username or Password?
If you have forgotten your password (blasphemy!), you will not be cast out into the cold. Simply go to click here - I forgot my password. All you need is either your username OR your email address. In either case, your password will be emailed to the account you provided CardShark.

Your Account
  1. View purchase history
Use the "View Purchase History" to help you view a history of your transactions purchased to date. You can refresh your memory by clicking on the transaction ID number to look at transaction details.
  2. Edit account info
If you want to change your password, address, username, etc, it can be done in the "Edit Account Info" section. It is a good idea to change your password periodically. Also noteworthy, the information you provide CardShark about yourself should match that provided to PayPal. Your CardShark email address must match your PayPal email address.
  3. Leave feedback for sellers
There are lots of good sellers on CardShark - prompt and true to their word. Occasionally, a buyer may come across a seller who does not meet expectations - shipping orders in an untimely fashion, or worse, using bad judgement when shipping which can result in damages. Providing other CardShark members with a quality-based ranking of a seller allows sellers to make more informed decisions when making purchases. "Leave feedback for sellers" is the place to rank the seller and provide comments (1 being the worst and 5 meaning the seller went above and beyond expectations).
  4. Confirm orders
If a buyer purchases from you, a confirmation email is sent to you. The email indicates the date by which you must confirm the order. To confirm the order, log into CardShark, go to "Your Account" and select "Confirm Order." Based on the Transaction ID, you can review the items the buyer wishes to buy. After review, click "Confirm" to view the shipping address and print the invoice. The buyer is automatically informed that you have confirmed the transaction.
  5. Manage inventory
"Manage Inventory" is a great place for sellers to effectively manage and view all items they are selling -- cards and figures. To make changes, or to simply review, click on "Manage Inventory." Here the seller has three options: one for search for individual cards/figures based on the name. A second for cards/figures within a set. The third is the Advanced Inventory Management tool that allows you to view your cards based on a set and provides you with detailed information on quantity and price. Using any of the three options, the seller can make changes based on quantity, price, condition, etc. The seller can also remove an item or by choosing to delete.
  6. View payments pending
"View Payments Pending" allows the seller to find out when the expected payment date is for a particular transaction. The transaction is sitting in a payment purgatory - the time period between the buyer making a purchase and the seller receiving payment. Each pending transaction is cleared when payment is received. To review each pending transaction, click on the transaction ID.
  7. View payment history
Another method to better manage your transactions is to view a history of all past transactions through "View Payment History." Here, you can refresh your memory by clicking on the transaction ID number to look at transaction details.
  8. View transaction history
The "View transaction history" page allows the seller to view all items sold to date. This also includes all transactions whose payments are pending.
  9. Leave for vacation
If you are a seller with items(s) listed with CardShark, and you are planning to take a vacation or undergo some temporary endeavor that will prevent you from being a good-faith seller, select "Leave for Vacation." This will temporarily remove your cards from the CardShark until you return. At this point, you may select "Return from Vacation" to re-list your cards.
  10. View buyer feedback
As a seller, you may want to see how the buyers with whom you have completed transactions, rank you as a seller. Click on "View buyer feedback" to view all rankings and comments (1 being the worst and 5 meaning the seller went above and beyond expectations).
  11. One account per user
Each person is allowed one account on CardShark. If you see a message when you try to log in that says you have multiple accounts, and you are currently suspended, please write our customer support team and indicate which account you wish to remain open. Our Member Services team will respond to your request promptly.
  12. Your browser must allow cookies to use CardShark
Please be sure you have cookies enabled. These are important, and you will not be able to log in without at least allowing some cookies.

You can check your settings in your browser by going to the menu (In Internet Explorer) Tools -> Internet Options. In the middle of the tab called "Privacy", you will see a section called "Settings". The slider bar for cookies must be set at least to High or lower.

Contact customer support team if this does not solve the problem, or you are using a different browser.

Buying
How to Buy instructions

How To
Find cards to buy using our Magic search engine. The easiest way is to Search by card name in the left corner of our home page. Or you can search for specific cards within a set by card name, artist, card number or rules text. You can also browse cards by set and search specifically for foils rares or foreign (non-English language). If there is no seller for the particular card, it will not be listed. Add cards to shopping cart by selecting Add to Cart next to the desired card. Remember that your shopping cart only stays active for 60 minutes after your last access of our site. Purchase cards through PayPal from the shopping cart page. It is strongly recommended to fully complete the PayPal account information prior to completing a transaction on CardShark. Receive cards in the mail (usually in less than a week!). Remember, after receiving your card(s), go to the Your Account page and "Leave feedback for seller." It may help other CardShark members make better decisions when purchasing their cards.

Shopping cart
Once you have found the card(s) of interest, place it in your shopping cart by clicking on "add to cart" immediately to the right of the listed card. If you wish to continue hunting for cards, select, "continue shopping." Once finished (or you know you have maxed out your limit for the month, select "view shopping cart" to begin the check-out process. You can remove unwanted items by selecting "remove" to the right of the item.

Shipping charges
Please view our Buyer shipping chart to get a more detailed understanding of how shipping is charged to the buyer.

Paypal
It is a good idea to fully complete your Paypal account prior to conducting a transaction. If, for some reason, you do not complete your account registration with Paypal, CardShark reserves the right to cancel the transaction and free up the inventory for others. We will also tell your mother how inconsiderate you have been (just kidding). Seriously, if you need to interrupt your card-buying process to update PayPal information, you have 30 minutes before the CardShark system frees the inventory for others. Your shopping cart will remain intact for up to 30 minutes from the time you accessed the site.

Simply pay with credit card
Now you can pay using only a credit card. These transactions are still processed by PayPal, but now you don't have to register for an account to pay for your cards. Simply click on the "If you do not currently have a PayPal account" button:

and proceed on PayPal's secure server with your credit card payment.

Why should I buy postal insurance on my order?
Buyers often ask CardShark why they should buy postal insurance. CardShark offers this option so that both parties - buyer and seller - can recoup their losses if your order is lost in the mail. If you choose not to purchase insurance when a seller offers it, please realize you are taking responsibility in case of loss.
